Issue#118520: HP - Spectre x360 Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 Connection Drops

  • When I first got my Spectre x360 about a month ago (came with Windows 10 pre installed) the WiFi dropped every few minutes. I updated the drivers and thought the issue was fixed. Now I'm having a similar problem. Around 1030-1130 every night the WiFi will drop completely for several minutes and fail to find any connections, or it will find any connection except my own WiFi. Sporadically throughout the day it will have the same issue and drop completely or stay connected but say "no internet connection available. I also experience lag spikes every few minutes while playing onlinegames. It takes 5-10 minutes for it to find my wifi again and establish a connection, restarting does nothing. All my drivers and Windows are up to date. Other devices such as my phone and PS4 stay connected just fine at the same distances.  Please help.

  • Issue#316901: I'm unable to host an ad hoc connection with an Intel dual band wireless-ac 7265

So in the past, I've been able to tether my cellphone and then share the connection using my laptop's ad hoc (kinda like a hotspot).  It worked perfectly until I bought a Toshiba Satellite that comes with no LAN adapter or CD Rom cause it's more like a tablet/laptop.  Well, I figured that it has a dual band wireless, it should be able to use the wireless card as a host and share an ad hoc connection but I keep getting an error message every time I try to start the ad hoc connection.  These are my following commands:  "netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=(Name of Host) key=(Password)" then this displays:   The hosted network mode has been set to allow. The SSID of the hosted network has been successfully changed. The user key passphrase of the hosted network has been successfully changed. I then try to start the hosted network with this command: "netsh wlan start hosted network" Error Message:  The hosted network couldn'

Hello, I've been having some issues with the AC 7265 card seemingly having throughput/connectivity issues.   I've reference the document AC-7265 Frequent disconnects/Painfully slow when connected and changed most of those settings.  I currently have configured: U-APSD Support - DisabledTransmit Power - HighestPreferred Band - 5.2GhzWireless Mode - 802.11a/b/gHT Mode - VHTAd Hoc QOS Mode - WMM DisabledI've also configured the PC to not be allowed to turn of the network adapter to save power in the device manager. My wireless network has really good 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz coverage with 20Mhz channels only. I'm also running the latest driver for AC-7265 (8.33.0.1).  The scenario I came across today: The card was connected on the 5Ghz frequency. The laptop was connected for roughly 23 hours straight to the same AP.The client was connected with very good signal strength of -63 RSSI with a SNR of 29 on AP1.  I observed really high latency and lots of ping

  • Issue#507905: HP - Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 bluetooth issue

I just upgraded my laptop wireless adapter from "Broadcom BCM43142" to "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac" upon confirmed that the new card is supported from service manual.  Both latest Intel wireless and bluetooth drivers are installed (18.33.0.2 and 18.1.1611.3223 respectively). AC connection works perfectly fine; however, the bluetooth seems to be having issue here.  For pairing and maintain active connection between bluetooth device and laptop, I have to put them right next to each other literally.  Any distance more than 10cm apart, the bluetooth device will be inactive and unusable.  I don't have such problem with Broadcom which I can perform pairing and maintain active connection even a meter apart.  Does anybody face the same issue before with Intel AC 3160 bluetooth?  Or is this a hardware issue with the card itself?

  • Issue#3862: Intel - Please Help With Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165

Hello,So I am have been scouring the internet and troubleshooting my wireless adapter for about a week now, and I still am unable to get it working. I am unable to activate the Wi-Fi on my laptop, which is a week old Dell Inspiron 17 7000 series. The Wi-Fi key on the keyboard does not enable it. Neither does toggling the Wi-Fi switch in Network settings: I click to turn it on, and it attempts to toggle On before it reverts to the Off state. I have gone into Network Connections, which contains the icons for the Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections, and it shows that the Wi-Fi is enabled (the Icon is in color, as opposed to being greyed out when off; and right clicking it gives me the option of disabling it, so it must be enabled). Still, when I right-click and select to Connect, it does not. Selecting to Diagnose it yields a message for the following problem: "Wireless capability is turned off." But the previous courses of action are unable to turn on the wireless capability. I have also

  • Issue#913915: Linux - No wireless Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 on RHEL 6.5

I’m trying to get a Linux seat prepared for a user and I’m running into a dead end. I was able to install a driver and get the Ethernet adapter to work. Haven’t tried setting up sound yet, so as of now it doesn’t have sound. The main problem I’m having is with wireless. This laptop has the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2x2) WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 combo (vPro) wireless adapter. It is supposed to work with Intel’s iwlwifi kernel module so there are no drivers to install. The kernel drivers support all of the Intel wireless adapters up to but not including the AC 8260. The AC 7260 is the last supported module since RHEL has an older kernel. I ran lspci –nn to list all the pci devices and it lists the wireless as “00:16.0 Communication controller [0780]: Intel Corporation Device [8086:9d3a] (rev 21)”. If I run ifconfig -a it lists the Ethernet adapter, the PAN adapter for Bluetooth networking and the loopback address. I downloaded the firmware for the adapt

Can anyone give me some advice on how to optimise the wifi for my system (ubuntu 16.04, Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260)? I have an ac adapter / router and yet the wifi connection is very slow (slower than non-ubuntu systems connectiving via wifi to the same network). Results of wireless-info attached. As a workaround, I am currently using ethernet and both the ethernet and wifi were connected whilst wireless-info was run, but normally I'll only use the one or the other. The headset works like a charm any Windows 10 PC I tried (Dell XPS13, Lenovo Yoga) and with my Android Nexus 5X. However, I have a blocker issue if I use it with the Spectre x360. Pairing works, even if I had to repeat the process several times. Once paired, listening to music works mostly fine – in stereo mode. The problem arises when I try to perform a call. The problem is the same with any program, Skype, Skype For Business, Skype Preview or my Softphone (Bria). I can hear the counterpart, but they can only hear a really loud static noise. I tried an Echo / sound test service with Skype, and the recorded sound is exactly as my counterpart described. I have a combo WIFI/BT PCI card on my desktop computer with Intel AC-8260 chipset. It's running on Windows 10 64bit. I have latest drivers installed using Intel Driver Utility (Current version of drivers is 19.1.0.4). I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue. Let me know if any more details are required

I bought my Spectre X360 November 2015.  Every so often I lose my wi-fi connection (using AT&T Uverse).  When that happens, I should be able to see a list of available networks, including my home network from which I have become disconnected.  However, when I lose connection, the Wi-Fi display window is blank.  AT&T told me it is an HP issue, since the wireless card should display all the available networks, even when disconnected from the Internet. The only way I can restore a connection to the Internet is close all open programs and restart the laptop.  Best Buy, where I bought the unit, was unable to help as this is an intermittant problem and can not be forced for demonstration purposes.  Therefore, I could not recreate the problem for the tech support person. Please advise if you have a fix for this problem.  I'm hoping I don't have to send in my unit for hardware repair as it is my only laptop and, like everyone, I use it for e
