Issue#465807: Dell - Dell inspiron lcd failure problem

  • Hi Sad_Ah Thanks for writing to us. 8 beeps indicate either LCD failure or video card failure. Please try on an external monitor and let us know the outcome. Also you can try running LCD test, steps below : Shut down the system Hold the letter D and power up the machine Let go the D after 5 seconds

Then boot, press F12 and load the Dell diagnostics. Run an extended test on the hard drive. If the drive throws an error code such as 2000-0142, it will need to be replaced.

  • Issue#19615: Windows 10 upgraded failure - Dell Inspiron N5050 - display driver not working

The short version of this post is a warning to be careful upgrade any Dell Inspiron N5050 laptops. The issue shortly after booting up.  The display goes blank shortly after the Dell and Win splash screen (still can hear the short Win10 music rift after the screen blanks out).  The very first boot up after updating to Win10 worked fine.  After that first boot...well.  Using an external monitor works and shows the laptop didn't just crash. Booting in safe mode and looking in device manager shows an error with the display driver.  A quick web search listed others upgrade attempts with the same problem, but no solution. I doubt there's many of these laptop around, but wanted to share.  Hopefully I'm not rehashing someone else's post or crying wolf when there happens to be a fix out there.

  • Issue#31973: Dell Inspiron 1501: Troubleshoot Booting Problem, turns on, fans whiz for a moment

I need help troubleshooting the problem with my laptop. If I have the computer connected to the power and the battery is in its place, then the battery charging LED light turns on. If I press the power button, the fan whizzes, and the hard drive may make boot noises, but immediately after the everything goes silent. The power LED light remains on, but the screen does not display anything, not even the back-light in the screen. It will stay that way until I press the power button to turn it off. Online, I was able to find some potential fixes, but none of them solved my problem. Remove the battery, unplug from power source, press power button for 60 seconds, plug into power source, and turn on laptop.Take out the DIMMs and put them back in. How can I isolate the problem component? How can I diagnose the issue? I am not afraid to open the computer, but I do not know where to go from here. Thanks for the help. ⟐ Commented January 30, 2016 at 6:16 am -0700

  • Issue#127330: Dell Inspiron N5010: Display have some problem. Not showing anything.

I have 4 yr old Dell Inspiron N5010. It was rebooting by giving blue screen while operating and some error code that "something crashed, check for newly installed drivers/devices" and then rebooting. I reinstalled AMD drivers too but in the end it started giving 8 beeps and no display (Display was starting with black backlight but no logo etc) I gave it to local technician, he said it's chipset problem and billed me for Rs.4800/- ($75). It was giving "Graphics card has stopped working and recovered error" afterwards too. In a month again the laptop starts but screen is dead. What should I do? Do I have to change whole processor or removing the Graphics card will solve the problem? Technician is asking for same amount again. ⟐ Answered February 16, 2016 at 2:33 am -0700

Unless you already have done so, as the computer was purchased from Best Buy, you need to register the computer with Dell, using the link I've already provided. You can find details of Dell's Return To Depot, HERE: http://www.dell.com/downloads/ap/services/ServicesAgreement/22.pdf Bev.

Yes you are correct! every tutorial in youtube and articles on the internet only teach how to dismantle heatsink fan and apply thermal paste and none of them educate the need of thermal pad in n5110... Im just wondering is there any size of thermal pad or thickness needed for this laptop.

  • Issue#429109: Dell - Dell inspiron 2320 all in one desktop mouse problem

We have 6 of these. Fixed the mouse by physically trying out ALL the mice which were in different rooms. Think it was due to: 1) some fella switched the mice 2) When upgrading to 8.1 from 8. The mice resynced and since the rooms were close, some mice re synced incorrectly.

First off, do you have the recovery media that may have came with your computer or that you made? If not there IS a way to boot from the recovery partition but its a long drawn out process that may or may not work. Another way is to either see if the recovery ISO is on Dell.
